Flanagan's Irish Pub has been operating in Vienna for over 20 years, and has previously been voted the best Irish bar in Europe.
The pub itself was previously located in County Cork, and for hundreds of years operated under the name "Flannery's". When this pub closed down, the entire thing was split up into parts and transported to Vienna. As such, it's arguably the most "genuine" Irish pub to be found in Vienna.
The pub serves a selection of Irish beers like Guinness and Kilkenny, as well as local brews and of course a range of Irish whiskeys. Traditional Irish food is served here for a very reasonable price.
Important international sporting matches that might be hard to find elsewhere are shown here on a regular basis.
Flanagan's Irish Pub Reviews
Flanagan's is definitely the most genuine/authentic Irish pub I've ever been in, outside of Ireland! It's Irish owned and a good majority of the staff are Irish or have good Irish connections, particularly the bar staff. Food is good, perhaps a small bit on the pricey side, but given its location in the heart of Vienna it's to be expected, it's fairly standard prices for the area. The drink really hits the spot, especially if you're looking for an authentic pint of Guinnes or an ice-cold bottle of Magners, but they stock all international and local beers too. Atmospehere is brilliant, really friendly staff who have the craic as much as the customers, sometimes even more so! Fri/Sat night always busy and very lively! Also, for sports enthusiasts, shows all Irish GAA matches, all soccer (I was there during the world cup!) and all Rugby matches too! Definitely recommend it, there's something for everyone!
