The Spielzeugmuseum, or Toy Museum in English, hosts a large collection of toys from Baroque times right up to present. The collection is the largest in Austria.

The building where the Toy Museum is housed used to be an old hospital, and the baroque architecture of the premises is impressive in itself.

The collection includes an large number of antique doll houses and dolls, as well railway sets, paper theatres and wooden as well as soft toys, some hundreds of years old.

The Kasperltheater puppet show is also held here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 3pm.

The museum is located centrally and can be reached on foot from almost anywhere in the city.
