Salzburg is quite a small city, and you might find that after a few days you feel like you have seen everything the city has to offer.
Luckily there is almost as much to do in the surrounding area as there is in the city itself.
A popular day trip involves taking the bus 10 miles south of the city to Untersberg – a almost 2000m high mountain.
Even day trips to the Bavarian capital, Munich, are not out of the question. Trains to Munich leave regularly from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof and arrive 90 minutes later.
