The Panorama Museum is located in the newly opened Salzburg Museum, and gives visitors an insight into what Salzburg was like hundreds of years ago.

The panorama itself was painted by Johann Michael Sattler between the years of 1826 and 1829, and is 26 meters in circumference. As a visitor, you stand in the viewing platform in the middle, and the painting completely surrounds you. With the use of telescopes, you are able to examine the finely detailed portrait of Salzburg in the 19th century.

This attraction is worth taking in on your visit to the Salzburg Museum. Entrance costs only a few euros, and is free for holders of the Salzburg card.
