The Ochsenbraterei has been a staple at the Oktoberfest since 1881 when Johann Rössler first opened his revolutionary Ox Rotisserie on the site.
Continuing this tradition, the tent specializes in a number of Ox related dishes, and you can until this day still see the giant Ox Rotisserie roasting away these large beasts in the background. Over 100 Ox are consumed here during the 16 days of the festival.
The music podium in this tent is located along the side of venue, ensure that you don't get stuck looking at the back of the band all day long.
The tent is one of the more family friendly tents to visit during the fest, and you're unlikely to see any scenes from the Pig Pen in the Hofbräu Festzelt playing out here. That's not to say however that the Ochsenbraterei doesn't know how to throw a good party.
This tent is one of the many serving Spatenbräu, and holds almost 6000 people at full capacity, in addition to 1500 seats in the beer garden outside.
