Haus der Kunst

The Haus der Kunst, or House of Arts, houses temporary art events throughout the year. It is also home the Munich's most prestigious nightclub - P1.

The building was originally commissioned by Hitler as the "Hauses der Deutschen Kunst" or "House of German Art", and was opened in 1937.

After the war, the building became the home of an American officers club, but was handed back to the local authorities a couple of years after the war’s end.

The Haus der Kunst is located at the south end of the English Garden, not far from the center of Munich.
