The steeple of Munich's oldest Parish church, the Peterskirche, is known as "Alte Peter" (Old Peter).
Built in the 17th century as an addition to the Peterskirche, for a small fee visitors can climb its 300 steps to its 92m high viewing platform to get a bird's eye view over the center of Munich.
The platform at the top is quite narrow and as such it can often be quite difficult to move around. It is best to visit in the early morning when most tourists are still in bed.
