The Allied Museum in Berlin documents the period of Allied presence in Berlin, from the end of World War II, until the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the final pull out of Allied troops in 1994.
The museum has a large open air section that contains many large military objects such as a British Hastings as well as the original guard tower from Checkpoint Charlie.
Inside there are collections of Allied uniforms, weapons and medals as well as huge document and photo archives.
It is possible to join a guided tour of the museum by prior arrangement.
The Allied Museum is located just outside of the Berlin city center, but can be easily reached with the U-Bahn from central Berlin.
