Hundertwasserhaus

The Hundertwasser House is an unusually designed house, create by Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Although it is now one of Vienna's major tourist attractions, it was built as a normal residential building, and is still used for that purpose today.

The foundation stone for the building was laid in 1983. What makes this house so unusual is how it is tied in with nature. There are trees growing out of the building and the roof is covered with grass and even more plants. In fact, this building contains over 250 trees!

The building itself is painted in a patch work of colors, making it stand out from any other structure near it.

The Hundertwasser House is located on Kegelgasse, just a kilometer or so east of Vienna's Ringstrasse.
