Vienna's Arena complex is mainly devoted to contemporary, youth orientated music and performances. It hosts a diversified list of performers, festivals and acts. It was originally a slaughterhouse but underwent extensive renovations in 2003.
Arena provides an outlet for alternative performers, cultural activities and social events.
There are five main performance areas. The Dreiraum room consists of a lounge, bar area and performance space. It can host up to 160 people. The small hall is generally used for smaller concerts, up to 240 people and has a bar, PA system and lighting. The Big Hall has been recently renovated and can accommodate up to 935 people. There is also an open air concert venue and cinema.
Arena attracts a wide range of local and international performers. Concerts are normally held between May and September with several held in the open venue. You will need to purchase tickets for events and prices are dependent on the acts.
