Stiegl Brauwelt offers visitors the opportunity to see how beer is brewed, as well as allowing them a taste of the finished product at end.
The tour takes place in the Stiegl Brewery, which was founded in 1492, making it the oldest in Austria.
The museum is huge, covering over 35,000sqm, and uses elaborate staged scenes and interactive exhibits that make the journey fun for kids too.
During the tour, you get to see how different beers are made and the history behind them. As the museum is also a real brewery, you can also see and smell the latest batch of Stiegl being produced.
At the end of the museum is the Braustube, where you get to try a number of different beers, which are included in the cost of entry.
There is also a shop on the premises where you can buy Stiegl memorabilia and some beer to take home with you straight from the brewery.
Brauwelt is located slightly outside the city center towards the airport, but can be easily reached on Bus 1 to stop "Bräuhausstrasse". Entrance is included on the Salzburg Card (which effectively means free beer!).
Stiegl Brauwelt Reviews
Took about two hours to walk around as it is so large. Glad we went to experience it, but wouldn\'t be inclined to go again. Although the restaurant seemed to be busy and a good family place to each at lunch if nearby
