Although the Oktoberfest is more about the beer than anything else, the Weinzelt offers an alternative for those who might have had enough of the amber liquid in the past few days, or for some reason don't like it in the first place.
Here you can sample a range of around 15 different wines, as well as order Paulaner Weißbier (cloudy wheat beer) that isn't available in most other tents. Not only can you order drinks at the tables in the main hall, but also in the trendy Wine and Schnapps Bars on the ground floor.
The atmosphere inside is somewhat more relaxed and refined than many of the other big tents, and the fact that there is only room for around 1500 people inside ensures that a cozy and warm atmosphere is maintained at all times. There are a further 600 seats in the beer garden outside.
The tent was completed redesigned and rebuilt in 2005, making it one of the newer and freshest looking venues at the Oktoberfest.
The Kuffler family runs the tent, as well as other high class restaurants such as the Seehaus and the Mangostin, so the quality of the food here is also top notch with a longer and more extensive menu than you might be used to if you've come from some of the other tents.
The Weinzelt is located off the main street, on Matthias-Pschorr-Straße at the far south end of the grounds.
