The Hacker Festzelt is one of the most popular tents at the Oktoberfest, and has one of the most impressive interiors with a bright blue cloudy sky hanging over the entire tent.
It is also one of the largest with almost 7000 seats inside and another 2400 in the beer garden outside. Like its name suggests, the beer served here is Hacker-Pschorr – one of the only traditional "Märzen" still left at the Oktoberfest.
From midday until 5:45pm, the Hacker tent hosts its "Mittags-Wies'n" where certain Bavarian specialties are on sale for more affordable prices.
The Hacker-Festzelt is popular with locals and tourists alike. At 5pm, the traditional brass band is replaced by a more modern rock band that never fails to really gets the party going. The stage itself is directly in the middle of the tent, and revolves ensuring that everyone gets a good view.
When the weather is good, the tent roof can actually be partially opened, which improves the air quality inside which can be somewhat lacking in the tents due to the fact that smoking is still allowed.
Unreserved seats can generally be found in front and behind the stage up to the point where the boxes start.
The Hacker-Festzelt is directly opposite the Augustinerbräu Festhalle and between the Schottenhamel and the Hofbräu tents on the west side of the main Wirtsbudenstrasse.
