There is certainly a wide range of pubs, restaurants and nightclubs to choose from in Dublin's cultural quarter of Temple Bar, and Oliver St John Gogarty is one of the best. It has won awards for its fine cuisine, which focuses on traditional Irish food and music.
Each day, marathon sessions of traditional live Irish music is played from 2:30pm to 2:30am, on the first floor. This includes a diverse range of performers playing several different instruments, including fiddles, flutes, banjos and guitars. Everyone seems to be having a great time and the atmosphere is filled with music, laughter and the hum of conversations. There is no admission charge
Food can be purchased from the bar daily from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. If you prefer a more formal setting, then you can dine in the restaurant, which has seating for approximately 90 people.
Overall, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the performers interact well with the crowd.
The area is centrally located to Dublin's center and as such, is serviced well by public transport.
