Located just a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin version of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is the franchise's 8th exhibition and one of its newest.
It was thrown into the spotlight during its opening in 2008 when a 41 year old man jumped onto a display and ripped the head off one of the museum's most controversial pieces - a wax sculpture of Adolf Hitler.
The head has however been since reattached, although Hitler is now displayed behind glass and is the only statue in the exhibition that you are unable to take your photo with.
The museum is split up into a number of different sections. In the History Zone, you can meet important figures from the past like John F Kennedy or Erich Honecker. In the Sports Zone, you can find Boris Becker and Mohammad Ali, and join in interactive games involving themes related to the sporting personalities. In the Culture Zone you can take an IQ test with Einstein or lie on Sigmund Freud's couch.
The Behind the Scenes Zone explains the story of Madame Tussauds, and how the wax models are made by taking hundreds of measurements and inserting thousands of individual strands of hair into the models to give them their lifelike appearance.
One of the most popular sections is the Music Zone, where you'll find Elvis, Michael Jackson and Robbie Williams as well as the Celebrity Zone with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Justin Timberlake and Angelina Jolie.
In addition to standard entrance tickets, it is also possible to buy combi tickets that include the Berlin Sea Life and Aquadom as well as the Legoland Discovery Center located at Potsdamer Platz. If you are considering visiting either of these two attractions, then a combi ticket will certainly save you some money.
