Shopping in Amsterdam is usually a very enjoyable and interesting time. Many of the stores are small but beautifully presented and often you will find unusual merchandise for sale.
P. C. Hoofstraat is a well known Dutch street with a multitude of mostly small stores, selling a fantastic array of goods. It was named after Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft, a famous Dutch writer and historian of the 16th century. The street is centrally located close to the Rijksmuseum district.
Many of the shops cater for the luxurious retail market with many selling exclusive brand named goods such as Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitoon, Hugo Boss and Valentino.
Even if the price of many of the items is beyond your holiday budget, you will no doubt experience an enjoyable day window shopping and watching the crowds go by.
Most of the stores are open from Monday to Saturday. As with most stores in Amsterdam, they open around 10am and trade through until 6pm.
