Visitors can reach Berlin with a number of European and International Airlines to one of the cities three airports.
Tegel International Airport (TXL) and Templehof International Airport (THF) both lie within the city itself, and can be reached quickly and easily with city public transport. Schönefeld International Airport (SXF) is however situated just outside the city's borders in the state of Brandenburg, although there are similarly good public transport links to the city from this airport as well.
Berlin is not a hub city of the German national airline, Lufthansa, so a connecting flight is often needed to reach the city from outside Europe. However, with the emergence of budget airlines such as Air Berlin direct flights are becoming more easy to find.
